Finding a “WOAHHH” Christmas/birthday gifts for kids is not easy, especially for the kids nowadays who have everything from toys to clothes to digital games. This is why after a few days or a couple weeks, most gifts end up shoved in a closet or somewhere else out of sight, forgotten and collecting dust. In this post, I would like to share with you some gift ideas that can help both kids and parents enjoy it.

  1. BOOKS

Books are never “Enough” for kids. The pediatricians always recommend parents to start introducing books to the kids when they are still the babies. Reading helps creating the quality bonding moment between parents and kids. They also help the kids gain their vocabulary skills, the emotion control and the focus development. Books don’t come with ratings the way movies do. Some books might include the age recommendation on the inside but it’s rare. Therefore, it creates the difficulties for adult when it comes to choosing the books which are appropriate for the kids’ ages. There are some websites which I trust when looking for an age-appropriate books for my child.

  • Amazon – this is the easiest place to filter the information for children. Scroll down until you see the “Product Detail” section where you know if it is okay for the kids.
  • Goodreads reviews – You can find the reviews from other parents here.
  • Publisher’s websites – This is my last option since it contains the only general information which sometimes confuses me.

  1. SUBSCRIPTION

My kid loves getting surprises in the mail and it is even better if those surprises are cool, innovative, fun and educated. So I think subscription box is the perfect gift not only for the kids but also reach the smiles of the parents. Here is the list of subscription that I’ve either have or researched so far for my kid.

  1. SUMMER GEARS

Spring and summer are the most active seasons for kids especially the ones who are already in school. In addition, my kid was born in December so both her birthday gifts and Christmas gifts are coming at the same time. People usually give her winter stuffs. So for the whole year, she might not receive any other gifts. That’s why I think of summer gears which can be used as the surprises for her throughout the year. Garden gears, pool/beach gears and travel gears are common and kids always need them.

  1. TICKET

Movie tickets and Disney on Ice tickets are the best options for the family during Christmas season.

There are also other popular shows for kids and families throughout the year. However, you have to check if it’ll happen at the kids’ family location.

  1. ACTIVITY PASS

Kids love playgrounds such as trampoline, bounce house, Chuck E Cheese so the pass to any of these places will make them smile the whole day.

Besides, you can think of the annual pass like Children Museum pass, Aquarium, Water Park or other local activity passes. These annual passes always come with family package so the whole family will have fun together.
