My Story

Hi guys, my name is Tam, a full-time working woman, wife and mama of the little Mango. People ask me why her name is Mango, simply just because I love mango which is the best in Vietnam. I can’t find any other mango as good as the mango in my hometown.

I was born and raised in Vietnam, attended high school in US. I graduated from the University of Houston with my Bachelors Degree in Biochemistry. Having Vietnamese roots, I’m kind of an expert in planning. Through Flight by Mango, a family travel blog, I hope to make family vacation planning easier with a combination of tips, reviews, destination guides, and sample itineraries.

We love Travel

Do you want to raise a kid who loves travel as much as you do? YES, WE DO

We believe that traveling together strengthens our family bonds and creates the long-lasting memories. We love finding emerging destinations, having cultural and educational experiences, adventuring outside together, and exploring a destination through its food, nature and also lifestyles. That is our goal, enjoying our time together.

We started our first international trip with Mango since she was 6 months old. People think that it’s kind of waste of time and money while traveling with kid because she wouldn’t remember anything afterward. I proofed it is not always true. My Mango remembered most of everything when I’ve showed her our journals. We have the yearly journal which included every moment we have been together throughout the year. Trust me, if you find a good planning and preparation, you can take the kids anywhere.

Raise the kid to know Vietnamese

There are so many reasons I want to raise my kid with Vietnamese cultures and language. She will be able to converse with her grandparents, travel, and future work abroad, improve her own mental development. All of these reasons are real and justified. However, kids are too young to understand these benefits or don’t care about them so I have to create that desire and need in her.

With Flight by Mango, I would like to share with all Vietnamese parents who are not living in Vietnam my tips of teaching kid to learn Vietnamese.
